A Mountain Biker’s Weekend Itinerary
September 7, 2025

STAY, Ride, Eat, Repeat.

If there’s one thing Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom is known for, it’s world-class mountain biking. Kingdom Trails draws riders from across the country with its flowy singletrack, breathtaking views, and that unmistakable small-town vibe you can’t find anywhere else.

And if there’s one thing riders know best, it’s this: a great weekend on the trails isn’t just about the ride—it’s about where you eat, where you sleep, and how you recharge for the next day’s adventure. At The Wildflower Inn, perched right on Darling Hill with direct access to the trails, we’ve crafted the perfect itinerary for a mountain biker’s dream weekend.

Friday: Arrival & Sunset Spins

  • Check in at The Wildflower Inn: Drop your bags, breathe in the mountain air, and soak in the sweeping views across the ridgeline.
  • Warm-up Ride: Hit the Kingdom Trails for a quick sunset spin right from our doorstep. Darling Hill offers the perfect welcome ride—flowy, scenic, and a reminder of why you came.
  • Dinner & Drinks: Refuel at our restaurant and pub, where local brews, hearty meals, and post-ride camaraderie set the tone for the weekend.

Saturday: Big Ride, Big Reward

  • Fuel Up at Breakfast: Start your day with a hearty homemade breakfast at the Inn—you’ll need it.
  • Epic Day on the Trails: Spend the day exploring all that Kingdom Trails has to offer. From the legendary SPete's Dragon to hidden gems in the forest, there’s something for every rider. Rentals and gear are available steps away at Rifugio Darling Hill, our on-site bike shop.
  • Midday Refuel: Grab a quick lunch in East Burke or pack something trail-friendly. Nothing tastes better than a sandwich with a view.
  • Evening Recovery: After rinsing off the dirt and dust, unwind with a cold Vermont craft beer and dinner back at the Inn. Our sunsets over Darling Hill are the perfect backdrop for tired legs and happy smiles.

Sunday: One More Ride

  • Morning Spin: Before you check out, sneak in one last ride. A shorter loop on Darling Hill gives you one more chance to carve those corners and soak up the views.
  • Lunch & Goodbyes: Return for a relaxed lunch before heading home—tired, maybe a little muddy, but completely recharged.

Ride. Eat. Repeat.

At The Wildflower Inn, we know what riders want: easy trail access, great food, comfortable rooms, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. Whether you’re chasing miles, chasing flow, or just chasing a weekend of fun, we’ve got you covered.

So pack your bike, bring your appetite, and let’s make your next mountain biking trip one for the books.
