Cold Vermont beer, real espresso, and sunset views, right on the trail in East Burke

Rifugio bike shop in the red barn at the Wildflower Inn with beer and espresso signs, on the Kingdom Trails in East Burke Vermont

If you are riding the Kingdom Trails and wondering where to refuel without leaving the trail network, here is the short answer: the Trailside Beer, Coffee & Snack Bar at the Wildflower Inn sits directly on the trails in East Burke, behind Rifugio, the bike shop in the red barn. Roll up in your riding shoes, order a Hill Farmstead Edward or a proper espresso, grab something to eat, and be back on the singletrack in twenty minutes. Or stay for the sunset. Most people stay for the sunset.

We are one of the only trailside beer, coffee, and snack shops anywhere on a major mountain bike network. There is no parking lot shuffle and no drive into town. The Kingdom Trails run directly through our property, so the bar is not near the trails. It is on them.

What we pour

The coffee side runs the espresso classics: lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, cortados, and iced coffee for the hot days. The beer side is built for Vermont: Hill Farmstead Edward, rotating drafts, and hard cider. There is lemonade and hot tea for the kids and the drivers.

What we serve

The menu leans healthy on purpose, because nobody wants to climb Sidewinder on a heavy stomach. Think wraps, salads, chicken salad croissants, and a charcuterie board worth splitting when the whole crew rolls in. Everything is made to eat outside with a view.

When we are open

The Trailside Bar is seasonal and weather permitting. Friday through Sunday it opens at 9am and pours until sunset. Monday through Thursday it runs noon to sunset. That sunset detail is not a gimmick. The outdoor seating looks west over the valley, and we will put our sunset up against any view in Vermont.

You do not need to be a guest

Day riders are welcome. Park free, ride the network, and end your day here. If you are renting or your bike needs attention, Rifugio in the red barn handles premium mountain bike, gravel, and e-bike rentals, repairs, e-bike charging, and has a bike wash station.

The midweek secret

Here is what regulars know: the Kingdom Trails on a Tuesday are a different sport. Empty trails, no lift lines at the bar, and better math on the room. Book direct on our site and stay 5 or more nights and 15% comes off your entire stay automatically. Stay 15 to 30 nights and it is 20% off. Ride all day, walk to dinner at our Restaurant & Pub, which serves 365 days a year, and do it again in the morning. Dogs are welcome in select rooms, and the saltwater pool is waiting when your legs give out.
