The kingdom challenge

An exciting challenge awaits for you on October 15th! Every year, sponsored by local businesses, the Kingdom Challenge commences to raise money for the Good Shepherd Catholic School. If you enjoy donating to a good cause, getting in some cardio, and being surrounded by people who love running as much as you do, then read on for more.

This awesome challenge comes to you from Saint Johnsbury and Lyndonville, Vermont. Runners will have the chance to run through the gorgeous hills and bridges of Vermont at the perfect time of year. Fall. Your starting point, and the type of sights you'll see depends on which challenge you choose, but we promise that whichever way you go, the sights will be beautiful.

the Half Marathon

The Half Marathon is a challenging point to point course that starts in Lyndonville at the Town Offices, and ends at the Saint Johnsbury School. Welcome to both walkers and runners, this half marathon is not for the faint of heart. Those that join the Kingdom Challenge Half Marathon will meet with an elevation change of nearly 3,000 feet, with several long climbs throughout. While some of the course will be paved, the majority (60%) will be dirt and country roads. And remember that it's Fall, so that means mud. If you're ready to get up, down, and dirty, sign up for the Half Marathon.

the 5k

The Kingdom Challenge 5K is open to runners only, and will start and end at the St. Johnsbury school. Those participating will get to run through four picturesque covered bridges in rural Vermont, and encounter a few hills that race organizers describe as "moderately challenging." The course for this race is all paved, and predominantly flat, with an uphill climb to the finish. If you like to run and see beautiful sights, but aren't too keen on mud, try this 5K on for size.
