They are an award-winning craft brewery known for producing a variety of world-class brews. They do all of this while also giving back to local organizations and charities.

All of our 14th Star's beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and brewed with 100% all-natural ingredients! Annually, they fill over 1.2 million cans of craft beer.

Their talented Brewers Kendall Krebs and Andrew Godiksen let their creativity shine, producing small-batch experimental draft brews all year long.

Located in St. Albans Vermont, 14th Star Brewing Co. is worth the trip.

Red Barn Brewing was created by beer lovers who truly enjoy the taste and smell of a well-crafted beer. They've spent years working to brew the type of beer that their wives, friends, and themselves would enjoy.

When describing the Red Barn beer, the words simple, creative, and fun fit the bill. For many years Red Barn Brewing has taken some tried and true recipes and infused them with fun.

With 10 beers of different styles to choose from and a pub grub menu, Red Barn Brewing is a delicious stop in Danville, Vermont.

Whirligig Brewing is a small, BIPOC-owned, one barrel nano brewery located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. With a wide variety of beer styles including IPAs, lagers, and stouts, you'll always have a good selection to choose from. Or, if you'd prefer to take a walk on the wild side, their specialty lies in sours and wild ales.

With a focus on hyper-local sourcing, all of their beers are brewed with Vermont & regionally grown ingredients whenever possible.

What once was a two-person operation out of a roughly outfitted shed in the woods, is now one of the most high quality and sought after brands of small-batch ales from the Northeast. Ten Bends Beer now sits just 3 miles from that first setup, in Hyde Park, Vermont.

Today, Ten Bends is a seven-barrel brewery that produces ales as distinct as the surrounding area.

Their tasting room offers beer samples, packaged beer to go, and retail shopping, making a visit to Ten Bends a real treat.

lawson's finest liquids

Lawson's Finest Liquids was founded in 2008 in Warren, Vermont. The fan following was instantaneous, demanding an expansion in 2011. They launched their flagship IPA "Sip of Sunshine" in 2014, and by 2018, opened their destination brewery and taproom in Waitsfield, Vermont.

Their name is their promise, meaning they promise that everything they do gets their finest effort. They use only the best ingredients, and brew with passion and precision.

"Finest. Fresh. Always kept cold" is their motto, and they hold to it. Their storage is cold, they're shipped cold, and they're shelved cold to keep that brewery-fresh taste every time.

With a gorgeous taproom, wide selection, and delicious beers, you will never be disappointed at Lawson's. After all, their liquids are the finest. See what I did there?

In Vermont, mud season often gets whispered about—spoken of as something to avoid, endure, or escape. But in the Northeast Kingdom, mud season isn’t a flaw in the calendar. It’s a transition , and an important one. At The Wildflower Inn, we see mud season not as downtime, but as a pause—a chance for the land to rest, reset, and prepare for what comes next. What Mud Season Really Means Mud season happens when winter loosens its grip, but spring hasn’t fully arrived. Snow melts. The ground thaws. Trails soften. Roads tell stories. It’s not messy by accident—it’s the natural result of a landscape waking up after months of snow and cold. And while it may change how we move through the NEK, it doesn’t mean adventure stops. It just looks different. Why Mud Season Matters This season is essential for the health of the land. When trails are given time to dry: Soil structure stays intact Erosion is minimized Trail systems last longer Future seasons are better for everyone Choosing patience now means better riding, hiking, and exploring later. Adjusting Expectations (Not Canceling Plans) Mud season isn’t about cancellation—it’s about adaptation. This is the time to: Trade technical trails for gravel roads Swap long hikes for shorter walks Explore towns, shops, and quiet corners Slow your pace and notice what’s changing The NEK has a way of rewarding those who pay attention. Beauty in the In-Between There’s something special about this in-between season. Snow still clings to shaded woods. Streams run high. The air smells like earth instead of ice. The first signs of green begin to appear. Mud season offers a kind of raw beauty—less polished, more honest. A Season for Thoughtful Travel Mud season asks visitors to be partners in stewardship. Wearing appropriate footwear, respecting closures, and choosing low-impact activities all help protect the places we love. At The Wildflower, we believe good travel means leaving places better than you found them. That mindset matters most in seasons like this. Spring Is Coming Mud season doesn’t last forever. It’s a short but meaningful chapter between winter adventure and spring energy. And when you embrace it for what it is—a season of transition—it becomes something to appreciate rather than avoid. Here in the NEK, we don’t rush the seasons. We let them happen. Stay Wild.
