Celebrate Independence in the Kingdom

July 4th Fun Near the Inn

In Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, the Fourth of July still feels like it should—authentic, neighborly, and full of old-fashioned fun. Picture tractors and antique cars parading down Main Street, pie-eating contests with sticky-fingered laughter, fireworks bursting over quiet lakes, and communities coming together just for the joy of it. It’s the kind of celebration that reminds us why we love summer—and why we love Vermont.

If you’re staying at or near The Wildflower Inn, you’re perfectly positioned to enjoy some of the best July 4th festivities the Kingdom has to offer. Here’s a roundup of where the sparks will fly—both literally and figuratively!

At The Inn: Music, Mountains, and Sunsets

The Wildflower Inn is your hilltop haven for holiday weekend relaxation. On Saturday, July 5th from 6–9 PM, we’ll feature live music by Autumn Chamberlain, a beloved Vermont singer-songwriter, set against panoramic views of Darling Hill. Grab a drink, order something delicious, and toast the sunset with friends and family.

Guests can also enjoy:

  • Lawn games and picnic spots
  • S’mores by the firepit
  • BBQ specials and cold drinks
  • Easy access to nearby parades, lakes, and fun
