celebrating Jenifer's one year anniversary at The Wildflower!

Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of in your year at The Wildflower?

A: "We have spent the last year working on the infrastructure and so many things that guests do not see but definitely improve their experience. 

I am most proud of the new Trailside Beer & Snack Bar and outdoor lounge. It offers the guests amazing views and a break from the trails, keeping them outside and in nature with family and friends. It was the perfect addition to the property. We will be adding music to the property this summer and fall."

Q: What do you think makes the wildflower unique?

A: "The view from the Wildflower is so unique and breathtaking. I feel blessed to come here every day. We have 360-degree views of the mountains, Willoughby Gap, Burke Mountain, and Heaven’s Bench. A bonus is we can see the miraculous sunrise and sunset each day.  I try to take in the views each day and remember why others love to come here. It keeps me focused and grounded."

Q: What are some of your favorite guest experiences or amenities that The Wildflower offers?

A: "Without a doubt, the pool is my favorite feature of the property. It is in just the most perfect setting and the waterfall is so relaxing. But my favorite amenity is the staff. I love that they are always willing to go the extra mile to help each other and guests."

Q: What are some of your most memorable moments during your time at The Wildflower so far?

A: "I think the most memorable moments I have had here in the past year are the relationships I have built with other business owners and collaborators in the community. Anna and Bruce from Dirt Church, Heidi and Anthony from Rasputitsa, Kingdom Trails, Lawson’s, Barr Hill, Eric and Karen Wilson with the Mo Wilson Foundation, and Belinda with Rabbit Run Photography have all had a great positive impact on me and I hope I have had the same positive impact on them."

Q: How do you foster a positive work environment for your staff, and an exceptional experience for your guests? What are your tips and tricks?

A: "For staff: Communication, transparency, respect, and inclusivity: Open and honest communication is crucial for fostering a positive work environment. Encouraging clear and frequent communication between staff members and management helps build trust and ensures that everyone is informed and aligned. Cultivating a culture of respect and inclusivity is essential for creating a positive work environment also. Treating all staff members with dignity, valuing their contributions, and fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce can lead to a more harmonious and productive environment. I strive to do this every day. 

I am so proud of the amazing staff we have here. They are invested in the growth of the business and know their ideas and contributions have value. 

For guests: Attention to detail and continuous improvement: Striving for excellence and consistently seeking ways to improve the guest experience is vital. Paying attention to the details, actively listening to feedback, and implementing necessary changes or adjustments demonstrates my commitment to providing exceptional service."
