Find the perfect color palette for your spring wedding

So you’re planning a wedding; congratulations!

Now that you’ve got the ring and chosen your season, you’re probably asking yourself “where do I start?” From invitations to the day of the ceremony, there are a lot of choices to be made. It can be overwhelming to jump into planning without guidance, so here are some pointers to help get you started!

Color Schemes

Upfront, this probably seems like the least important aspect of planning a wedding. I mean, there’s food, seating, filling out your guest list, and so much more. However, your color scheme will play an important role in most aspects of your day.

Think about it: maybe you’re going for a rustic spring vibe, so that beach venue with the all-white walls and stone accents may not match your vision. In turn, your venue will determine how many guests you can invite, so knowing which colors and shades do and don’t match your ideal aesthetic can really help narrow down your options. In the end, this allows you to prioritize your venues based on the other attributes they possess. Just remember: every decision you make becomes part of a chain reaction!

Besides, looking at color palettes is just plain fun!

To start, let’s take a look at a few popular color schemes to get the ball rolling.

Sage Green

Sage green has been a bride favorite for several years now, and that trend doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. And why should it? It’s a color that looks stunning year round, and seems to go with anything. It mixes well with pinks, purples, blues, reds, and even black for those alternative brides out there looking to shake things up.

Moody & Romantic

For a more moody moment, try contrasting the bright Spring surroundings with a deep burgundy. Though it may seem a little untraditional, it’s elegant all the same. It’s a pallet as timeless as a rose and looks stunning next to a wide array of colors. Just because you’re pastel-averse, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a beautiful Spring ceremony!

Serene & Ethereal

If you want your wedding to paint a picture of class and sophistication, a palette of subdued purples and soft charcoals might be a winner! This combination is perfect for black-tie, and offers an impeccable level of cohesion. It’s a classic composition that will add an extra level of elegance and composure to a wedding in any season.

Bright & Splashy

Though it may seem more apt for autumn, an earth-toned color palette is more adaptable than you think! It facilitates a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and encourages people to come together. You can even throw in pops of brighter colors to help tie it into the season. It’s humble but chic with elements of whimsy, perfect for a cheery, outdoor, springtime wedding!

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to color planning, so take your time and soak up all of the options! Remember to have fun, and choose what feels right for you; it’s your day, after all, and if something speaks to you, roll with it! Whether you’re looking for something classic, untraditional, or somewhere in between, there’s a palette for you out there!
