SPRING ACTIVITIES

Spring is the Northeast Kingdom's quiet season — sugarhouses steaming, rivers running high, and Kingdom Trails waking up as the singletrack dries. Our restaurant serves breakfast and dinner 365 days a year, mud or shine.

Spring, the quiet season

March through May moves fast here: sugaring, then snowmelt, then green. Here's how to make the most of the Kingdom's quietest months.

Maple and mud season: March and April are sugaring time across the Kingdom — visit a nearby sugarhouse, then warm up with dinner downstairs. As the snow lets go, the rivers run high and our 300 acres green up fast. Wander the fields, find Heaven's Bench, and stay for a long spring sunset.

When the trails dry: Kingdom Trails reopens riding as conditions allow — check trail conditions before you ride, or ask the front desk what's open. Lake Willoughby, 26 minutes north on VT-5A, makes a dramatic early-season hike, and our 27-hole disc golf course is ready as soon as the ground firms up.
